Risks and Dependencies in the KDS
- It can be a problem to transfer the entire 'old' electronic documentation into the new system. A DESY-wide acceptance of the new system may depend on its success.
- A cooperation of all DESY groups and devisions is essential for the DESY-wide solution.
- An accurate graphical representation of the cable paths on the campus and in the buildings requires a connection to the GIS/FMS. An interface to the GIS is currently in the planning stage.
- There are no general storage management of the cable and connector stocks. This is the responsibility of the individual groups. As a possible follow-up project, a link of the KDS to a storage management system is conceivable.
